People and organisations aligned with Healthy Respect values can become involved in Healthy Respect as champions and as partner organisations Healthy Respect is committed to, and dependent on, partnership working to deliver the multi-faceted programme of education, information and services to young people. The Healthy Respect network aims to implement evidence-informed interventions and thus ultimately facilitate a culture change, creating an environment that will lead to long term improvements in the sexual health and wellbeing of young people in Lothian.

Who are our partners?

Partnership working with organisations and local agencies is key to improving the sexual health and relationships of young people; and these agencies have an in-depth knowledge of community needs and networks. By working closely with partner agencies Healthy Respect can facilitate links and communication, enable those already working in local areas, and demonstrate good practice.

Partner organisations

The Healthy Respect network is co-ordinated by NHS Lothian. We work closely with a wide range of professionals from voluntary and statutory organisations working with young people in Lothian. These include:

  • NHS staff (including primary care, practice nurses, school nurses, receptionists, specialist sexual health and young people’s services, Health Promotion specialists) 
  • Education professionals (in primary, secondary and special schools, colleges and alternative, informal and specialist education settings)
  • Professionals in community and charitable organisations.
